Roseville Community Schools is proud to announce Rebecca Miglio as principal of Green Elementary beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Miglio takes over for Donna Ambrose, who retires from Roseville Community Schools after more than thirty years in education.

Ambrose started teaching in Roseville in 1996. She spent her first three years teaching band at Green Elementary (formerly Huron Park Elementary) and Roseville High School, where she also coached JV softball. In 1999, she made the move to teaching elementary music full-time, teaching at a variety of elementary schools for the next 12 years, including Lincoln, Kaiser, Alumni, Eastland Elementary, St. Angela, Fountain, and Steenland. In 2011, she made the switch to middle school, teaching band and choir at Eastland Middle School and Roseville Middle School, while also sponsoring the National Junior Honor Society and serving as teacher-in-charge. While at RMS, Ambrose was named the 2013-2014 Roseville Community Schools Outstanding Middle School Teacher of the Year. In the fall of 2014, she made the move to administration, serving as assistant principal at Roseville Middle School before settling in at Green, where she has been principal for the past six years.

Ambrose said that she feels completely blessed and honored to have worked in Roseville Community Schools. “I have fond memories of all the students I have had the privilege of working with and will never forget them. I also have made lifelong friends. Roseville is truly a family.” Roseville Community Schools Superintendent Mark Blaszkowski said that Ambrose has been an extremely effective principal at Green Elementary and she will be missed. “She has always cared for her students and families by listening to their needs and doing the best she could to help them. She built a culture of teamwork, which has paid dividends to our students. We wish her the best in her retirement.”

Rebecca Miglio takes over as principal at Green Elementary after more than thirty years teaching elementary in the district, most recently at Green. In addition to her years as a classroom teacher, she has spent the past six years as one of the district’s instructional coaches, helping colleagues integrate classroom technology into their curriculum. She has served in a variety of other capacities during her career, including as a member of school PBIS committees, district leadership committees, professional development committees, as well as co-chair for the district’s math school improvement plan committee. Miglio holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayne State University and a master’s in administration from Saginaw Valley University with an elementary and secondary administrator certificate.

Miglio said that she looks forward to continuing her career as part of the Green community. “I already have a fantastic team to work with and an exceptional group of students and their families to support.” She added that teaching every level K-6, as well as her variety of roles within the schools, brings relevant experience to her new role. “I have developed leadership skills through years of curriculum work and being an instructional coach. I hope to achieve supporting teachers in developing curious, caring, and engaged learners.” Blaszkowski said that Miglio has a long track record of elementary experience. “She has been a teacher, an instructional coach, and has also been a pioneer of technology in the classroom. She is a hardworking individual that is innovative and supportive to staff and students alike. Her experience will be a great asset as we transition from Mrs. Ambrose.”
